The Role of Immune Subtypes in Liver Metastases
The immune subtype did not reflect microsatellite instability, which is a known immune-promoting feature of certain colorectal cancers. By contrast, the canonical subtype indicated hyperproliferation and genomic instability in patients with liver metastases. The stromal subtype had features of EMT and K-RAS activation as well as fibrosis. So, these three subtypes were intrinsic to colorester liver meds and dramatically different at a biological level.
