Why Would Hess Want to Kill Himself?

It's very suspicious that an Israeli agent would call him up and tell him his anti-Semitic, unrepentant Nazi father had been murdered. The known facts are also consistent with someone else, like from the four powers who had inside knowledge of Hess's death investigation, faking this claim. I just really don't think I can think of maybe he had something on the royal family but the royal family is no stranger to weathering scandals as recent history shows.
