Calocles and socrates are not going to reach agreement. Socrates can get no purchase with calocles because he and calicles share no common ground. This issue arise again as we turn to an even more famous dialogue, an inquiry into the nature of learning itself. In plato's mino, we will meet another disciple of gorgias and make the surprising discovery that what seems to be learning is actually recollecting what we knew before we were even born.
