The Non Identity Problem - Is Clare's Choice of a Cheaper Policy Worse?
Narrow principles imply that it wouldn't be worse if claire chooses to conceive a child o lived to only forty. If we believe that clare ought to wait, we must explain and defend belief in some other way. Since this problem arises when, in some possible outcomes, different people would exist,. I call this the non identity problem. These implications are, i claim, clearly false, and give us decisive reasons to reject these principles.
