I just wrote a book about this actually called One Fair Wage Ending Summit and Pay in America. Tipped workers are overwhelmingly women, disproportionately women of color. And we're originally black women entirely. It's $2 after 81 years of a federal minimum wage law because they are women,. Incarcerated workers, largely or disproportionately black and brown. Workers with disabilities, simply because they have a disability. Young people who are immigrants and marginalized folks in our society.
