Is It the Bullshit Asymmetry Principle?

The amount of energy to refute bullshit is an order of magnitude higher than the effort required to generate it. Maybe what we need is a nonprofit where all they do is just for each new instance of this where someone's telling a causal story on pretty thin evidence with trend lines that could have been explained the other way. This nonprofit will publish TED Talks making the exact opposite case using trend lines that sound exactly as persuasive and they just keep doing this until the public gets it that you can do this for any story you want. I'm sure Google or Facebook would love to fund that.
