Dan O'Brien: We're swimming in a culture where self is considered a synonym for the individual. He says it can turn into a lot of a feeling of self-absorption amongst our own sort of individual child rearing or what we're trying to support in our kids. "I need your help right now. Because I know you know what I'm trying to say, but I don't know how to say it," he writes. 'The good news about that is since the mind is what constructed it, we can actually go deep into the mind and construct a better way of living.'
