Are We Separated From the Process of Nature?

Everything that we consider to be an import part of human life is derived from the process of nature. We want to believe that we've somehow conquered nature and now live outside of it. But what if every narrative that we add on top of the narratives of the past just creates yet another layer in this archaeological record that gets us further and further away from the truth? This is the sentiment that ralph waldo emerson is trying to get at.
