Most space biology research for the last 20 years has been in low earth orbit. We look at patterns of gene expression, things and what molecular tools plants pull out of their tool box. Lik bongas do mostly what you think of as orbital sinsa. So we do a lot of plants to the space station and ask the very simple question is, how to s respond at the molecular level to the novel environment of space flight?
Can you actually grow potatoes on Mars? On this episode, Neil deGrasse Tyson and comic co-host Paul Mecurio explore how to grow plants in space and whether we can farm on the Moon and Mars with space biologists Anna-Lisa Paul and Robert Ferl.
