The Effects of Cytochrome P450 on Metabolism

SIP 450 is a family of enzymes and things like 50 to 100 different ones. They're the main family of enzymes that do this oxidation reduction hydrolysis. Anything that affects the enzyme's speed or ability will either increase metabolism or decrease metabolism. So in some cases, you might, a patient might be taking something, even a food, that would impact the liver's enzymatic ability.
