The Ethics of Ambiguity - Part 3

Semon de bavoir writes about a mistaken way of looking at the world that even people who are totally free are at risk of falling into. To truly appreciate a work of art, to really judge the piece of art work accurately, what you need to do is remove yourself of all biases and prejudices before you look at it. We can't remove ourselves a bias completely. It's an integral part of how we make sense of anything at all. What we should be focusing on instead is being open and honest about the biases that we have so that we can have a real productive discussion about this piece of art in front of us.
