What's the Hierarchy of the Ship?

In Moby-Dick, the protagonist is pitted against an antagonist who wants to take control of his life. The story centres around whether or not moby will give up his agency for ahab's purposes. In many ways, this book is about how we all have our own shadow figure within us that can be overcome if we let it go and accept things as they are.
