On March 29, 2021, the Ontario Securities Commission notified crypto asset trading platforms that they had until April 19 to contact OSC staff to discuss regulation. Shortly after the common in talk admonition, Binance decided to withdraw its services from Ontario. In December, the National Regulatory Federation, the Canadian Securities Administrators or CSA put in place a pre-registration undertaking regime and restrictions on the activities of crypto exchanges.
