Moral reasoning is often the servant of moral emotions. Hume was saying, you know what, it's just really your passions, your emotions and the reasons are just a slave to them. We think that our reasons come to us first and out. The reasons dictate the moral. So we find the reason that this is bad. But that's like saying that like we wagging the tail and the dog gets happy. Whereas it actually goes the other way around. You get your emotions first. And then the reasons just justify those emotions that you felt.
