Last time I watched it I specifically felt that the climax was a bit more to some extent directionless than I remembered and I do know that there was a lot of trouble behind the scenes with the ending because they were like 80% on their way into the production. Marlon Brando was also not cooperating in the best possible way so yeah there is a sense that you can feel the improvisational quality to the kind the stuff that went on behind the scenes it kind of bleeds through in the final product.
