What Is the Philosophy of Schools?
Aristotle was an important pre christian greek philosopher whose teachings had been largely lost and forgotten in western christendom. They were gradually recovered, especially in the 12 hundreds, from islamic schools and translation workshops in spain. And there was a kind of insurgent aristotelian school that got aristotle's teachings incorporated into the curriculum little by little. It gave rise to what we call scholastic philosophy. That's a very sophisticated metaphysical philosophy that tries to integrate and synthesize together traditional christian philosophy, especially of augustine, with aristotle.
