Mitzi Shore was making $100,000 American per week in 1979 dollars which comes out to around about half a million a week and today American dollars right that's a lot of money. In 1978 comedians start secretly meeting and discussing their struggles and quoting from the book they formed the CFC comedians for compensation. Comedians are like swapping stories with each other about some of the most outrageous things that have happened to them but also getting a sense of common identity. The world of Santa comedy is a very competitive world workers come together despite their being pitted against each other  to stand together and be like hey stop exploiting us extremely rich person who is exploiting us doesn't get much better than that
