Are We All Exposed to History?
Are there forces that lend themselves to such amnesia about the, you know, not too distant past in its relationship to the present? Well, i don't think it's just a question of, i mean, those of us who live through the 19 eighties have memories a that people who were born in the 19 nineties don't have. A but we're all exposed to history, and we all internalize certain understandings of history. So, a, so i think there are parts of history and analyses of history that are very deliberately given to us again and again. And there's also parts of history which are very deliberately erased for us.
