The university of sydney wants to gut technical support positions. They also want academics to fight for their own research allocations each and every year. The changes are making people very angry, says Thok. But this has also become a sort of pitch battle, because staffart universities are already at breaking point after the pandemic,. but also the brutal treatment theyhave received at the hands of the coalition government.
