The Importance of Screening for Dialysis Patients
The idea that doing mammograms or looking for colon cancer would result in discovering a disease and allowing early treatment is just, it's a fantasy. It doesn't happen. And what you have is patients that have marginal nutrition that are being told, hey, don't eat for 24 hours. We're going to do a colonoscopy. The likelihood that you're going to improve anything is nearly nil. So, so the recommendation is no colon, no screening colonoscopies, no mammograms,. No CT scans of chest, low dose CT scans ofchest.
