How to Overcome Anxiety

Exercise gave me just enough anxiety relief to still more or less get on with my life. I managed to hold down a job for a year, save some money and head off to Australia travelling. But unfortunately OCD doesn't respect the boundaries of countries and it came along for the ride. Despite this being incredibly hard at times, I have found that acceptance is the number one tool in learning to overcome anxiety. By acceptance we mean making room for your thoughts, even the difficult ones. We have evolved to feel fear when our safety and well-being are at risk. Although we must show compassion to ourselves, whether we like it or not, fear plays a major role in our lives.
