Who Is Markahana?

Markahana was an american born orthodox jew from flatbush, midwood section of flatbush. Grew up in a what would be called, to day, a kind of moden orthodox environment during the late 19 thirties and through the forties and fifties. He doesn't really become a public figure until the mid 19 sixties. And t that at that point he becomes really, almost very quickly, a national figure as somebody who was trying to inculcate in young American jewery  a sense of renewed jewish pride.
