I think Donald Trump's support is based in large part, not entirely, but in large part by the widespread view that he is the guy who can take on these powerful institutions. The fact that he is as popular as he is and has been as successful as he is is proof that those institutions aren't very powerful because if the establishment could have stopped him, it would have, right?
