In October 1973, Jean Jordan ran away from her home in Scotland and moved to Manchester. She lived on the streets until she met Alan Royal, a 21-year-old chef. The couple had two sons together but eventually grew tired of each other. After they ran out of money, Jean turned to sex work at Red Light areas.
