What Level Should Be Targeted for Cardiac Patients?
For cardiac patients, traditionally it's been believed that a potassium level over four may reduce the risk of a rhythmia. Recent studies suggest lowest risk of arhythmy and death could exist among patients with a potassium of three point five to four. For renal failure patients, especially if their renal failure is getting worse, i will typically shoot for a lower number here.
