The push during the pandemic during the George Floyd period, where I think a lot of people did a lot of damage to the causes they hold dear by pushing the whole defund the police thing. It was amazing to me how many sort of mainstream sort of liberal media types and politicians showed a certain amount of groupthink and bubble. You could get on MSNBC with an academic credential and make it sound as if this was a mainstream point of view among academics who look at the criminal justice system.
