The Cost of Love

There was a cost to our redemption. And that cost was Jesus Christ ransoming his own life, God giving up his own son. Hosea says, I've redeemed you, but now I'm calling you to a standard. My redemption of you necessitates that if this relationship is going to work, there must be a transformation and a re-patterning of your behavior. Love is strange, painful, lays down rights. It's costly.
