The Existential Condition of Gorbachev in Trotskyism
Trotsky had to live at live as this kind of like ridiculous figure for whom history passed him by. I think that existential condition is one that I think people have more in common with Gorbachev than they want to think. People are basically just stuck squabbling amongst themselves, civilinating their interpersonal feuds into broader theoretical disagreements and maneuverings within these organizations without any organic connection to the class. It's sad. To resort to some language used in the Marxism versus identity politics article, you know, it is reflective of an alien class interest that Marxism is known for.
