Plastics in the Ocean
In his early years as a diver, there were no plastics in the ocean. Now it's hard to find any ocean without plastic. It's pervasive. Those nets, those lines, those traps, those goods that are made of synthetic materials that now lace the ocean everywhere,. When they are lost or discarded, don't degrade. They sometimes break up t he they do, in some cases, degrade, but not not to the point of going and become microplastics - so small you can see them under a microscope. The fish integrate them into their system too. We've just created a big experiment treating earth as something over which we have no control over the outcome.We're just witnesses
