Research by Marissa Sharif of Wharton and Suzanne Shoe of Cornell found that people who had flexibility in their schedule were more likely to achieve goals. The researchers looked at the brittleness of routines within a day, which can be demotivating when they break. Both research points out that rigidity is not going to work out well in the end because things get in the way. We need different strategies that will help us get back up again and not give up on ourselves.
