A common discipline model is response cost. That's where you have nonstop access to all the goodies of the developed world and then we take them away from you if you're naughty, which makes the parent the bad guy. I kind of like to turn that around on its ear. What if instead of doing that, they randomly pulled people over who were driving the speed limit and gave them a coupon for Starbucks? Like, what if they reinforced the behavior that they wanted? If you have a kid with ADHD, knock two or three years off her chronological age because executive functions will be delayed.
