When Did the 80s Die?

MTV at 12 O'1 AM aired its first music video August 1st, 1981. That ushered in the Reagan Revolution and a change and an embrace of more conservative values. The 80s ended when we saw eventually the steps that would lead to the dissolution of the Soviet Union. November 9, 1989, a East German government official was given notes to read about when the wall would open to allow more free travel between East and West Berlin. And he messed up because he said permanent relocations can be done through all border checkpoints. They don't know what to do with hundreds of thousands of people coming through those checkpoints laughing and they're crying and they're smiling.
