Teaching the Self Pacing Scale
Beth: We don't necessarily assume that students come into the class knowing how to self pay certainly not in third, fourth, fifth grade. But we teach it to them just like we teach the contents. And even within my class room, the level of scaffolding for self pacing really depends on the students and their needs. Beth: I feel like em i'm able to devote a lot more time helping students with that im just because i'm the direct instruction piece.
