The Greek World in the 7th Century BC
In 700 BC, Greek traders were active across the Mediterranean. Tens of thousands of Greeks left their homeland behind to settle permanently overseas. Lefkondi was probably the largest settlement in Greece at that time. When Phoenicians began sending expitions to Sardinia, Iberia and North Africa, there would likely have been Greeks among them.
