The centaur has two arms and fore legs, something neither horse or human has. It is a touch grotesque, but we can recognize that s probably the sort of thing that folks only find grotesque during early exposure or on specific portrayal. Even then, you can make a visually hideous looking walewolf or cat som there are some types of distaste that are more wild into our brains than others. Many chimera options might be useful, but not emerge because of technological alternatives to shape changing utility matter.
