Remittances from Mexican migrants to their families back home hit a record high, $5.69 billion in just a month of a day. That is according to reporting from Bloomberg News; it represents a 10% increase from the month before. Overall remittances over the past 12 months from the United States to Mexico sits at $60.8 billion, which again is a record high. The money could be leveraged to either pay for more border security or possibly force the corrupt Mexican government to do more, even if they would rather not.
