The Politics of Defense Reform
Louie Alexander Burke is an assistant professor of political science at Georgia State University in Atlanta. He has been doing research for several years now on development of states in countries affected by civil war and looking especially at the security sector. His new book looks at efforts by international actors to restructure police and military forces after wars. The majority of programs really focus on training and equipment but there are small kind of handful of programs that get into defense sector reform management governance.
