The History of Coffee

Coffee was discovered in Ethiopia more than a thousand years ago. By the 1500s, it had spread to most parts of the Ottoman Empire. Around 1511, people started getting worried about this thing called coffee. It's seen as an unwanted innovation with unknown consequences. But despite all their fears, the ban on coffee didn't last long. In 1600, they decided to ask the pop to excommunicate coffee from the Christian world.
