Nuclear Fusion Reactors - The Future of Energy

Doctor amy gandy is a senior lecturer in nuclear materials engineering at the university of sheffield. She explains that her department is working to develop materials to help nuclear fusion reactors withstand the extreme heat inside them, so that they can keep going for longer. One type of hydrogen used to fuel the reactor, called tritium, is in short supply, and so it's important that once it's in the reactor, it doesn't somehow get absorbed by any of the materials around it. We don't have enough natural tritium in order to sustain any fusion devices. So i'm genuinely so passionate about trying to get fusion to work. And i really believe i'll probably be in this area
