So if we were to define osteoarthritis radiographically that is upon the appearance of an x ray or looking at a person's CT scan or MRI scan. The incidents of osteoarthritic change within a hip joint is is quite common so if you look at people who age over 60 for instance. We would see radiographic changes and even up to a quarter of those people. But only a fraction of those people would be having symptomatic deficits or functionally important deterioration in their quality of life as a result of this arthritic degeneration.
