After the second half of the 20th century, it's much rare to find an active face that makes an active difference on an intellectual level in a lot of these things. We generally tend to set most of this in the category of religion, which makes it a kind of private matter or a side discussion That doesn't actively include all of public discourse. The further you go back to harder it is to do that.
