The Benefits of Reading in a Foreign Language

We acquire languages because we absorb it from sources, from listening or reading. Over time, we become more and more familiar with the different elements of that language. When you read something that is comprehensible, even if it's a little bit challenging for you, as long as you understand it, you're going to be acquiring the language as you read. And another thing in terms of vocabulary is that when you're reading, you can easily reread words and sentences to help you understand them.
