The Effects of Running on the Body

Hamish: We underestimate the loads that our body's subjected to when we run. Achilles tendon can deal with somewhere around six to nine times body weight with running. Internal Achilles tendon loads, that's a 200% increase from walking. The knee joint, the patello femoral joint deals with about five times body weight when we run,. It's about one times when we walk.
