Basefully is the language in which you cod bas. One of the base onents is this, as you mentioned, the run time compiler. The tricky thing is, everything's implemented in continuation passing style. This is a way of implementing tail recursion, essentiallycaso. languages that are implemented on like a non tail call optimizing platform usually do that.

The feature is called rave mode, and the context is Bass, an interpreted functional scripting language written in Go, riffing on the ideas of Kernel & Clojure.
