I have been surprised at the, at the thematic parallels that I find in work that could appear to be very far apart. When Marx was writing about the origins of Roman law and the 12 tables, it could appear that he has wandered away from capital. In reality, he's actually talking about the emergence of the kind of patriarchal domination over women that succeeded - bride price. And yet, I do see threads. Yes, Marx went down to rabbit holes.
