Is There a Difference Between the Classics and the New Yorkers?

There's a very practical element to this. People turn to these books that are often long neglected or bought and not ever read. And, as I said, sometimes are practical reasons, other times more deliberate. It might go back to the idea of ticking off another classic, or particularly forms of rereading. So something similar seem to come into play with books like Proust we've always had the chance to read those they have sat there on our shelves but now we could right now you specifically talk about Jane Eyre as kind of this representative example of how some readers relationships to the classics change during lockdown.
