Bonnie Garmus had a huge bestseller last year with her debut novel Lessons in Chemistry, which is just now coming out in paperback. It tells the story of Elizabeth Zott, a brilliant chemist in the 1960s whose all male team make her life a misery. She ends up hosting a hugely popular cooking show, Separate Six, in which she brings her scientific knowledge to bear in the kitchen and which starts changing the lives of a country's worth of overlooked women.
