They hardly remembered what they had lost, in fact refused to believe that they had ever been happy and innocent. After saying such things everyone began to love himself better than anyone else. All became so jealous of the rights of their own personality that they did their very utmost to curtail and destroy them and others. The conception of honor sprang up, and every union began waving its flags. Soon, very soon the first blood was shed.
