The Historical Books of the Hebrew Bible

Joshua is the first of the so-called historical books of the Hebrew Bible. The other historical books, Ruth, Chronicles, Ezra and Nehemiah are found in an entirely different section known as the writings. We don't know when Joshua was written; it's intriguing to think who wrote this line of scripture.
