The US President's Statement on China

The US study center hosted Kurt Campbell and Meru Rapupur and Edgar Kagan from the NSC to give a debrief on the trip. They credited Prime Minister Kishida and Japan with leadership in the G7 and the Quad and really setting the right tone. There is not complete unity, at least rhetorically among the G 7 and the Quad members in terms of what this competition is aiming to achieve. The Japanese have that economic interdependence more than twice as much as a percentage of their trade than the US has.
